Catching up

Sept. was a big month around here. Candler started school. She is going 2 days a week. She still cries at drop off but seems to be happy when I pick her up. It is fun to hear her talk about her new friends, be excited about her art projects she brings home, and sing songs they sing at music. I couldn't be happier with her teachers. I am so thankful she is at a place where I feel so comfortable dropping her off.  Here are some picture from her first day!

She is still just as crazy and silly as ever.

In other news..... we found out we are having a baby boy in early March. Things are about to get crazier around here.

Callaway weekend

Well we just got back from a little family weekend getaway at Callaway Gardens. It was nice to get away as a family but not have to travel too far. On our way we stopped by the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain. It was quite a terrifying experience at least for Candler and I. I was expecting a leisurely drive through the park to see some animals, but as soon as we entered the park our car was completely surrounded by a heard of zebra, moose, elk, etc. While I was trying to drive and console myself and an hysterical 18 month old Michael was trying to get the moose out of our car. I did my best to speed through but this was often difficult with huge buffalo is the rode, giraffes coming up to your window and huge antlered things coming at your car. I don't want to deter others from going..... I am sure if your child was older and you are not terrified of large overly friendly animals (me) I am sure it would be a blast. Though Candler did not enjoy the driving part she loved the walk around zoo at the park. You could get so close to the animals.

Then we went on to spend 2 nights at Callaway Gardens. We spent lots of time in the pool and in the lake, playing on the playground, and just walking around and exploring.

First time on the bike. I think she would have liked it if she did not have to wear the helmet.

She is at such a fun age and everything is so fun and exciting. So hard for me to believe that my little baby is starting school next week! What a fun summer!

More zoo!

Well we have had quite a fun summer around here. Here are some Picts of our trips to the zoo. Definitely one of Candler's favorite outings and with her favorite person cousin Lana.

Finally

Finally I am getting on the ball and posting about our July 4th. We stayed here in Atlanta and had quite a fun time. We got up and walked up so Candler could see her first Peachtree Road Race.

Then we were off to our neighborhood parade at the Duck Pond. Candler got to be in her very first parade.

and she ate her very first doughnut!

We finished off the day grilling out with family. Fun day!

Last Week

Last week was such a fun week! Michael had the whole week off. We were going to make a trip to the beach but opted for a stay-cation instead. It was so much fun to have time together as a family. One of our fun outings was to the zoo. Candler (and mom & dad) loved it! We will definitely be making many trips back.

One day we made a trip to the outlets and while I shopped Daddy and Candler had a blast....

We also spent some time at the neighborhood pool, going on walks, and just relaxing. Candler is still warming up to the pool. It took her a little while last year but she learned to love it, I am hoping for the same this year.
Today she had her pediatricians appointment. It was suppose to be her 15 month but we are a little behind because of all of her procedure so she is actually 16 months. She was 22 lb (50% percentile) and 32 inches long (95%) .... our tall little girl!

Update and Ice cream

Well Candler had her procedure last week. She did have some renarrowing in her airway and they ballooned it open again. They were more aggressive this time with balllooning so we hope and pray that this time it will stay open. She will be re-scoped again in about 3 weeks to determine if it worked. Her recovery has been a little rough but we are thankful to be home and not sleeping in the hospital. She continues through everything to play hard and be full of happiness. These pictures were taken the day before her procedure at the neighborhood ice cream party. She is throughly enjoying her ice cream sandwich.
