Happy Anniversary!

Happy 3year Anniversary to the most amazing man I know. I am so blessed to be married to my very best friend in the world. It has been the best 3 years of my life and I look forward to a million more!

Tomato Pasta

With a 4 month old at home and a husband who comes home starving from work everyday I am always looking for quick and easy meals. This is one of our go to meals that we have often... I thought I would share it with you.

Tomato Pasta
What you'll need...

• a package of whole wheat pasta
• whole container of grape tomatoes
• minced garlic
• extra virgin olive oil
• shredded Parmesan cheese
•  Kosher salt
• fresh ground black pepper
• red pepper flakes

First put your pasta on to boil according to package directions. While that is cooking cut the grape tomatoes in half

In a skillet heat about a tablespoon of olive oil, then add  a tablespoon of minced garlic and your grape tomatoes. Saute for about 2 minutes.

Once your tomatoes and pasta are done combine them in a large bowl. Add Parmesan cheese (we use a whole 5 oz. container but use as much as you like), salt and pepper to taste, 1/4t. of red pepper flakes, and drizzle with a generous amount of olive oil, and stir.

That is it... it takes about 10min.. and you are ready to eat. Enjoy!

A Lamp Revamp

I wish I had a before picture of the base of these lamps (but I forgot to take one.... oh well). They were a pair of brass lamps from the 80's my mom had sitting in her attic. With a little spray paint primer and gloss white spray paint.... what a transformation!

Now for the shade.... I bought these shades from Target

And now I have great lamps for my guest room for under $30 for the pair!

Product Friday!

Every Friday I am going to try to let you in on a product that I am currently using and love. This week it is Lash Stiletto mascara by Maybelline. I think it is the best mascara I have tried in a long time. You should try it!

Backyard Before and After

As promised here is a little before and after of our backyard. There is still much more to do (patio furniture, window boxes,etc.) but here is a little bit of what we have done so far. Might I say we are very lucky to have inherited a beautiful yard from our previous owners so there is not a lot to do but we have enjoyed making it our own.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall We have a New Use for you After All

This is the before picture of our half bath (more after picts to come once it is finished). Notice the mirror above the sink (sorry I don't have a better before picture). It is too short for the space. It has since been replaced with a mirror that is more appropriate for the space. Therefore we had an extra mirror (that I didn't love) and no place to put it. So after a fun little weekend project...

Well this has been quite an exciting past 12 months for our family..... so far my husband has started a new job, we had a baby, bought a new but old house, and I quit my job as a nurse to stay home with our precious little girl. All these new adventures have prompted me to start this blog. I don't know if anyone will read other than my mom (thanks mom) but I thought it would be fun to document our lives. There are a lot of things I love.... I love being a mom and a wife, I love and have a passion for design and updating/ decorating our home, and I have a love for sharing fun finds. That is what this blog is about simply sharing the fun things in life. Hope you enjoy a little Alpine Road.....
